Lucille Farmer Manning, 70, formerly of 1230 Macedonia Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.
Mrs. Manning was born in Allegheny County, NC on July 9, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Rev. George Brady and Laurie Effie Cox Farmer. A homemaker, she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Howard Manning; and by two brothers, Rev. Dean Farmer, and the Rev. George Farmer and his wife Betty Lou.
Surviving are two sons, Donald G. “Jeff” Manning of Edenton, and John E. Manning and wife, Carla, of Hawaii; a daughter, Laurie M. Crutchfield and husband, Chris, of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Bethany, Elizabeth, Jessica, Jasmine, Jelena, Jacob, Justice and Seth; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Samuel, and Sean. Also surviving are her sister, Elizabeth Evon Darden of Kingsport, TN; her brother, William Lewis Farmer and wife, Carrie Lee, of Laurel Springs; and a sister-in-law, Linda Farmer of Cumberland, VA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church, 1004 Macedonia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday, February 9th, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, or in the fellowship hall of Macedonia Baptist Church following the services on Saturday.
