Anna Belle Privott, 98, of 106 Mark Drive, Edenton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Edenton Primetime.
Miss Privott was born in Chowan County on August 30, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Charlie Daniel “Dan” Privott and Mary Jane “Mollie” Harrell Privott. Retired from the Rocky Mount Senior High School, she taught for 42 years in the Rocky Mount, Fuquay, and Williamston school systems. While living in Rocky Mount, she was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, the Rocky Mount Garden Club, the Rocky Mount Business and Professional Woman’s Club, and volunteered at Nash General Hospital. Presently the oldest member of Edenton Baptist Church, she had also been active in years past in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Erma Wiggins, Beulah Privott, Olivia Madre, Mary Ray, and Grace Blanchard; and by brothers, Lindsey, Ernest, Earl, Wilbur, and Carey Privott.
Surviving are nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services on Friday, and other times at the home of Sid and Norma White, 1709 Ocean Highway South, Edenton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
