Rebecca Turner Taylor Parker

   Rebecca Turner Taylor “Becky” Parker, 67, of 126 Gates School Road, Gates, NC, died Friday, February 2, 2018 in her home.

   Mrs. Parker was born in Suffolk, VA on July 31, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Orion Ralph Turner, Jr. and Sarah Frances Ray Turner Hampton. The owner and operator of Red Barn Farms Tack Shop, she was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church in Suffolk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie Taylor, a son-in-law, Bill Collins, and by a brother, Dale Turner.

   Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Ronnie Parker; a daughter, Jody Brinkley and husband Vernon; a son, Jeff Taylor and wife Mary, all of Gates; a sister, Sharon Peelen; a brother, Ronnie Turner; and her step-father, Ray Hampton, all of Suffolk. Also surviving are Ronnie’s two children, Cathy Collins of Gates and David Parker and wife Laurie of Raleigh. Together Becky and Ronnie shared 11 grandchildren, Caleb, Justin, Kaila, Jenna, Amber, Parker, Anna Lee, Mary Alice, Jessica, Ryan, and Zoe; and two great-grandsons.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by the Revs. Wade Bennett and Billy Presley. A private burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence.
