Berrie Lynn Black Williams, 71, of Horniblow Point, Edenton, NC, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, in Vidant Edgecombe Hospital, Tarboro.
Mrs. Williams was born in Miami, FL on July 11, 1946, and was the daughter of the late William Hill Black, Sr. and Helen Ruth Chudik Black. A graduate of the University of Florida, she had been a Special Education teacher in the Chowan County School System for over 20 years. Raised in the Lutheran faith, she had attended many churches in the Edenton area through the years as she strived to learn more of other’s interpretations and teachings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bryan Matthew Black.
Surviving are her daughter, Kelie Heather Williams Luby and husband, John, of Glastonbury, CT; her sister, Brenda Black Powers and husband, Frederick P., and her brother, William Hill Black, Jr. and wife, Hazel, all of Edenton; and three grandchildren, Anna, John, and James Luby.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services.
