Brenda Bunch Winborne

   Brenda Kaye Bunch Winborne, 70, of 3506 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Winborne was born on October 23, 1947, and was the daughter of the late James Melvin and Doris Ann Waff Bunch. A retired teacher and principal with the Chowan County School System, she had worked in education for 30 years, and had received the Regional Principal of the Year Award. A faithful member of Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, she had served as director of the W.M.U., as a Sunday School teacher, and had been the choir director for 36 years.

   Surviving are her husband of nearly 49 years, Robert H. “Bobby” Winborne, Sr.; her daughter, Angie Winborne Walston, and husband, Scott; her son, R.H. “Rob” Winborne, Jr., and wife, Donna; and five grandchildren, Hutch, Matthew, and Johnny Winborne, and Zach and Anna Scott Walston.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Ron Parr. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the Family Life Center of the church immediately following the service, and a private burial will be in the church cemetery. At all other times, friends may join the family at the residence.
