Dawn Friel Frontin

   Dawn Suzanne Friel Frontin, 60, of 137 Light Streak Road, Sunbury, NC, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA, where her husband was by her side.

   Dawn was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on February 3, 1958, and was the daughter of the late James and Judith Anne Fields Friel. A crafter by trade, she had formerly owned “The Smiling Cow”, with two locations in the Tidewater area of Virginia, and had more recently operated “Studio 32” in Sunbury, specializing in handmade jewelry and country crafts.

   Dawn was the person to bring light to the most difficult situations with her humor. She was the one to pull the shades when the light was too bright! She was the glue that kept it all together. Those who knew her would say she was the most kind-hearted and generous person, almost to a fault. She had an infectious smile, an incredible love for her family, and thought the world of her grandchildren. Dawn will truly be missed by so many!

   Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Allan Wayne Frontin; and their children, daughter, Jaime Shannon Frontin and husband, Michael Vaught, of Charlotte; sons, Sean Daniel Frontin and wife, Shannon, of Chesapeake, VA, and Allan James Frontin and wife, Courtney, of Gatesville. There are six grandchildren, Silas Brown, Brooke Lynn Frontin, Lila Grace Frontin, Hudson Everett Frontin, Gunner Levi Frontin, and Adonis Major Vaught. Also surviving are her sisters, Deborah and Jodi Friel; and her brother, James Friel.

   Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Her Life on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the home on Light Streak Road.
