   Gregory Carver Barclift, 51, of 157 Cottonwood Drive, Hertford, NC, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018, in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

 

   Greg was born on June 28, 1966, and was the son of C.D. Barclift of Hertford and the late Emilie White Barclift. A graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, he was a Relief Clerk with the US Postal Service, and had worked in the Merry Hill, South Mills, Winfall, Tyner, and Belvidere Post Offices. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

 

   In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Linda B. Bunch, her husband, Stanley, and their son, Joseph Cullen Bunch, all of Edenton; and other extended family members and friends.

 

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by Pastors Bryant Perry and Carroll Bundy. A private burial will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.

 

   Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope U.M.C. Cemetery Fund, 2098 New Hope Road, Hertford, NC 27944.
