Charles Thomas Hofler, Sr.

   Charles Thomas Hofler, Sr., 74, of 491 NC 32 South, Sunbury, NC, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018.

   Mr. Hofler was born Gates County on April 14, 1943, and was the son of the late Forest Riddick and Alice Hurdle Hofler. The President of Hofler Logging, Inc., he was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, and was a charter member of the Gates County Jaycees.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, by a sister, Gloria H. Askew, and by a daughter-in-law, Jennifer A. Hofler.

   Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Barbara King Hofler; two daughters, Gayle H. McAlister and husband Albert of St. Simons Island, GA, and Wanda H. Brothers and husband Chuck of Gates; a son, Charles Thomas Hofler, Jr. and wife Caroline of Gatesville; a sister, Linda F. Hofler of Sunbury; and six grandchildren, Richie Brothers, Caroline Brown, Jordan Hofler, Forest Hofler, Holden Hofler, and Wyatt Brothers.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Beulah Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Revs. Tom Hall and Ron Parr. The burial will be in Sandy Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Beulah Church immediately following the service on Monday, or all other times at the residence.
