John Herman Whitesell

   John Herman Whitesell, 82 , of Laurel Street, Hertford, NC, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 in Edenton House.

  
   Mr. Whitesell was born in Oakdale, PA on March 30, 1935, and was the son of the late Herman Flecher and Grace Knight Whitesell.  A retired truck driver from Delaware Valley Scrap Metal in Bristol, PA after 30 years of employment, he was a member of Snug Harbor Community Church where he had served as a Deacon, was always quick to help others in need, and loved walking his dog.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Shirley Balleck Whitesell.

  
   Surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

  
   A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 a.m. in Snug Harbor Community Church, and will be conducted by The Rev. Stanley Nixon.
