Juanita Griggs Winslow Daniels

   Juanita Griggs Winslow Daniels, 87, of Gates House Assisted Living, Gatesville, NC, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018.

   Mrs. Daniels was born in Suffolk, VA on March 6, 1931, and was the last surviving of eight children born to the late Dudley James Griggs, Sr. and Hattie Powell Griggs. Retired from First Citizens Bank in Sunbury, she was a member of Parker’s United Methodist Church in the Corapeake community.

   In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by both her husbands, William Stanwood Winslow, Sr., and Tobe Daniels; and by a granddaughter, Kelly Bridgman.

   Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Winslow Pitts and husband Robert of Raleigh, and Linda Winslow Cartwright and husband James of Elizabeth City; three sons, William Stanwood Winslow, Jr. of Florida, Barry Wayne Winslow and wife Emily of Corapeake, and Dudley Thomas Winslow and wife Jeanette of Efland; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Brian, Garrett, Morgan, Wesley, Whitney, Wyatt, Megan, and Billy; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Maya Hagen, and Macy; and by a daughter-in-law, Gail Winslow.

   Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be conducted by the Rev. Tom Hall. Burial will follow in Damascus Christian Church Cemetery in Sunbury. Friends may join the family in the funeral home the hour prior to services.
