Malvern Francis Mordica

   Malvern Francis Mordica, 95, formerly of Corapeake, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Gates House, Gatesville.

   Mr. Mordica was born in Norfolk, VA on September 11, 1922, and was the son of the late Lloyd Taylor and Anna Wilt Mordica. A retired electrician, he was employed with the I.B.E.W. Local Union 80. A veteran, he had served in the Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, a son, Tom, and by a brother, Edward.

   Surviving are his two daughters, Cathy Gray (Larry) and Margaret Smaltz (Roger); three sons, Tim, Pete, and Rob Mordica; a daughter-in-law, Ava Mordica; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; his friend and former spouse, Hazel Mordica; and his constant canine companion, Mort.

   Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake, VA. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Currituck Animal Shelter, 140 Aviation Parkway, Barco, NC 27917.
