William Lee Owens, 85, of Paradise Road, Edenton, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Owens was born in Chowan County on March 31, 1933, and was one of nine children born to the late Minnie Clyde Owens, Sr. and Martha Virginia Whiteman Owens. Retired from the Edenton Cotton Mill after more than 30 years of employment, he was a member of Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Owens; and by brothers, Minnie Clyde Jr., John Henry, Melvin Ray, Jesse Merle, and Linwood Earl Owens.
Surviving are his wife, Annette Forehand Owens; a sister, Annette Chance of Sevierville, TN; a brother, James Owens of Clarksville, MD; and by many friends and other extended family members.
There will be a time of remembrance for Mr. Owens during the morning worship at Faith Pentecostal Holiness Church, this Sunday at 11:00 a.m., and will be led by Pastor Danny Gurganus.
Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, assisted the family with the cremation and burial arrangements.
