James Milton Eason, Sr.

   James Milton Eason, Sr., 69, of 1413 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in his home.

   Mr. Eason was born in Pasquotank County on December 23, 1948, and was the son of the late Earl Lee and Irene Key Eason. Retired from Alcoa Aluminum, he loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, gardening, and farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rudy "Mouse" Hoffman.

   Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Myra Eason; his son, James M. Eason, Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Elizabeth City; three sisters, Faye Hoffman and Catherine Gardner and husband, Wayne, both of Elizabeth City, and Margaret Curlings and husband, Jack, of Windsor; and two brothers, Leon Eason and wife, Betty, and Earl Eason and wife, Margie, both of Elizabeth City.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and will be conducted by The Rev. Delores Langley. A private burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other times at the residence.
