Luther Ray Phillips, Jr.

   Luther Ray Phillips, Jr., 59, of Capron, VA, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.

   Mr. Phillips was born in Chesapeake, VA on November 28, 1958, and was the son of the late Luther Ray, Sr. and Catherine Eleanor Belvin Phillips.  He had been employed as a truck driver.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Diane Smith and Phyllis Peterson; and by a brother, James Phillips.

   Surviving are his daughter, Katherine Phillips Carter and husband Robert of Hertford; a sister, Ruby Hodges of Yale, VA; a brother, Bobby Phillips of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Michelle Phillips, Harley Brickhouse, and Kyle Carter.

   Private services will be held.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
