Winfred Wright Riddick

   Winfred Wright Riddick, 85, of 1365 NC Hwy 343 North, South Mills, NC, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 in his home.   Mr. Riddick was born in Pasquotank County on November 9, 1932, and was the son of the late Jody Oliver and Elizabeth Carter Riddick.  Retired from the Army Corps of Engineers, he was a member of New Lebanon Masonic Lodge #314.  A veteran, he had served in the US Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Sawyer "Peggy" Riddick; and by  a brother, Harold Riddick.   Surviving are his three daughters, Deborah Riddick of South Mills, Robin Temple and husband, Leroy, of Elizabeth City, and Kimberlie Hale and husband, Terry, of South Mills; a brother, Horace Wright and wife, Shirley, of Camden; a sister-in-law, Doris Riddick of Williamston; three grandchildren, Sebastian, Skylar, and Sasha Hale; and his special friend, Claudia.   Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City, and will be conducted by Pastor Darryl Stallings.  Friends may join the family at the residence.   Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements, and online condolences may be made by visiting www.millerfhc.com.
