Kent Reed

   William Kenneth “Kent” Reed, 40, of Yellow Hammer Road, Tyner, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

   Kent was born in Chowan County on April 22, 1978, and was the son of Lisa Carol Brown (Bruce White) of Tyner, and James Allen Reed of Calvert City, Kentucky. He was employed with the Edenton division of United Parcel Service.

   In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Alana Elliott Reed, age 4, William Kody Reed, age 14, and Devin McCoy Reed, age 13; his sister, Stephanie Nicole Luby (Danny) of Tyner; and two brothers, Jeremy Michael Brown (Tylene) of Tampa, FL, and Richard Allen Reed of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

   A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 1st, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. The family encourages those attending to wear casual attire. Immediately following the service, all are invited to join the family at Nixon’s Catering, where the celebration of his life will continue with a meal, and the sharing of fond memories. At all other times, those wishing to see the family may visit at Stephanie’s home, 3733 Virginia Road, Tyner.

   The family asks that flowers be omitted, and those wishing to make contributions, direct them to the State Employees Credit Union, (SECU), P.O. Box 448, Edenton, NC 27932, and designate on the memo line of the check, Reed Children/1215.
