William Oscar “Butch” Joyner, Jr., 66, of 351 Woodland Drive, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.
Mr. Joyner was born in Craven County, NC on November 5, 1951, and was the son of the late William Oscar, Sr. and Ruby Lee Wilson Joyner. A retired heavy equipment operator from B & H Sales in Norfolk, VA, he attended Cape Colony Church of Christ. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnne Parsons and Fay White; and by a brother, Ronnie Joyner.
Surviving are his two daughters, Lisa Struck and husband, Jamie, of Edenton, and Mary Boney and husband, Joe, of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Dale Williams of Virginia Beach; a brother, Tony Joyner of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Mary, Donnie, and James; a great-grandson, Damon; several nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Roscoe.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 30th, at 2:00 p.m. in Cape Colony Church of Christ, and will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas Biggs.
