Ray Alton Eason, Sr.

   Ray Alton Eason, Sr., 73, of 917 North Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018.

   Mr. Eason was born in the Newland community of Pasquotank County, NC on June 5, 1945, and was the son of the late Raymond A. Eason and Eugenia Eason Castellow. An outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman prior to his declining health. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Doxey Eason.

   Surviving are his son, Ray Eason, Jr. (Darla); a grandson, Douglas Oeser (Jessica); a granddaughter, Shelby Sanders (Jamie); a sister, Bettie Barnes; a brother, Edgbert Liverman; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   A memorial service will be held at a later date. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
