Vivian Riddick Jones

   Vivian Ward Riddick Jones, 86, formerly of New Hope Road, Hertford, NC, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.

   Mrs. Jones was born in Perquimans County on March 19, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Emory Judson, Sr. and Mary Ward Riddick.  A retired seamstress, she grew up in the fellowship of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.  Hardworking, generous and kind, she was selfless and always put the needs of others before her own.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Jones; three brothers, William Shirley Riddick, Gilbert Lawrence Riddick, and an infant brother, Robert Nelson Riddick; and by a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Riddick.

   Surviving are her sister, Mary Louise Riddick of Windsor; two brothers, Emory Judson Riddick, Jr. and wife, Mary Belle, of Sunbury, and Calvin Ray Riddick of Smithfield, VA; a sister-in-law, Margaret Riddick of Hobbsville; a special niece, Cathy Riddick; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

   Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery, and will be conducted by the Revs. Howard Sutton and Tom Hall.  Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
