   Sharon Elizabeth Greene Futrell, 60, of 597 Folly Road, Sunbury, NC, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, in her home.

   Sharon was born in Syracuse, New York on May 6, 1958, and was the daughter of Dan J. and Shelby Ward Greene of Sunbury. A retired tea pack operator with Lipton Tea, she had also worked as an egg inspector with USDA. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where she had lived many years ago.

   In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Lee Futrell; a daughter, Jennifer Brown and husband, Brian, of Suffolk, VA; a son, Christopher Futrell of Sunbury; and two brothers, Tommy Greene and wife, Lois, of Sunbury, and Dan Greg Greene and wife, Tiffany, of Suffolk.

   A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Christian Church and will be conducted by Pastor Garrett Lewis and by longtime family friend, The Rev. Tom Holland. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following the service, or all other times at Jennifer and Brian’s home, 5031 Carolina Road, Suffolk.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any chapter of the American Cancer Society, or online at www.cancer.org.
