   Dorothy Lee Boyce White, 84, of 1515 W. Queen Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

 

   Mrs. White was born in Chowan County on December 19, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Charles Frank “Charlie” Boyce and Bessie Layton Boyce. The retired office manager of Western Gas, she was a longtime member of Edenton Baptist Church.

 

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl B. Faircloth and Grace B. Britton, and by her brother, Waverly T. Boyce.

 

   Surviving is her husband, William A. “Billy” White, whom she married on June 1, 1952, just after graduating from Chowan High School. They recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Also surviving are her son, William Thomas “Tommy” White and wife, Shelly, of Cullowhee, two sisters, Mae B. Spivey of Hobbsville, and Faye B. Davis of Hampton, VA; and two granddaughters, Hannah White of Washington, DC, and Camille White of Cullowhee.

 

   A memorial service will be held Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. She will be interred on the White family plot in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence.

 

   In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.
