Helen Quidley Godfrey

   Helen Quidley Godfrey, 84, of 1372 Woodville Road, Hertford, NC, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at her home.

 

   Mrs. Godfrey was born in Hyde County on June 8, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Harry Walton and Allie Pugh Quidley. A homemaker, she also worked at Captain Bob’s Restaurant, and was a longtime member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

 

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Spencer Godfrey, Sr.

 

   Surviving are three sons, Norman S. Godfrey, Jr. and wife, Brenda, Wayne Godfrey and wife, Sherry, and Frankie Godfrey; two sisters, Edith Kelsick and husband, Dave, and Dale Jordan and husband, Rodney, all of Elizabeth City; six grandchildren, Pam Pureza (David), J.W. Godfrey, Janna Russell (Adam), Spencer Godfrey (Samantha), Weston Godfrey (Summer), and Morgan Godfrey (James); and six great-grandchildren, Zoe and Zach Pureza, Makenzie and Evan Wilkins, Owen Godfrey, and Greyson Russell.

 

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in New Hope United Methodist Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Carroll Bundy. A private burial will follow in the Godfrey Family Cemetery.
