Avril Davenport McCoy

   Avril Ann Davenport McCoy, 80, of South Mills, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in her home.      Mrs. McCoy was born in Norfolk, VA on November 9, 1937, and was the daughter of the late Andrew Wilson and Della Ann Phelps Davenport. A retired office administrator, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Elizabeth City Chapter #44 of The Order of The Eastern Star, and South Mills Ruritan Club.      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Everett "C.E." McCoy; two sons, Larry Wayne McCoy and an infant son; two sisters, Hilda M. Davenport and Louise D. Dowdy; and by two brothers, Edward R. Davenport and Marvin J. Davenport.      Surviving are her son, Gary Van McCoy (Stacey) of South Mills; two sisters, Jean Rogerson (Marshall) of Elizabeth City, and Juanita Staples (Ambrose) of South Mills; three grandchildren, Andy (Mary), Hailey, and Austin; and a great-grandson.      A memorial service will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, 104 Main Street, South Mills, and will be conducted by Pastor Marc O'Neal.
