Ann Agnew Morgan

   Ann Agnew Morgan, 84, of 112 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.

 

   Mrs. Morgan was born in Dallas, Texas on November 25, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Julius D Agnew and Helen Faye Houston Agnew Headen. A retired secretary from Edenton Cotton Mill, she also assisted her husband with the family business, Charles Morgan Painting & Wallpaper Contracting. A member of Edenton Baptist Church, she had volunteered at both the gift shop and the Skilled Nursing Facility of Chowan Hospital.

 

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Morgan, who passed away on July 5, 2016, after 62 years of marriage.

 

   Surviving are two daughters, DeAnne Morgan Warren and husband, Mike, of Apex, and Linda Morgan Letchworth and husband, Ricky, of Wilson; a son, Bruce Morgan and wife, Vicki, of Branson, MO; five grandchildren, Cameron Letchworth Elks and husband, Vann, Baker Morgan and wife, Jennifer, Zac Morgan and fiancé, Hannah, Colby Morgan and wife, Leigha, and Josh Morgan and wife, Kellyn; and four great-grandchildren, Easton and Eden Elks, and Maddie Rose and Oakland Hollis Morgan. Two other great-grandchildren, a boy, and a girl, are due to be born in November.

 

   Following a private family burial, there will be a service celebrating her life on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Edenton Baptist Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. David Brooks. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service, or all other times at the residence.

 

   Flowers are welcomed, or contributions in her memory may be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 S. Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932.

 

   The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Mrs. Morgan’s caregivers, Norma Simpson, Annette Jordan, Annie Blount, and Brenda Riddick. The care they provided made her days of declining health comfortable, and assured her family that she was loved even in their absence.
