Florine Wright Needham

   Florine Wright Needham, 77, of 916 Sandy Hook Road, Shiloh, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018, in her home where she was surrounded by her family.

   Mrs. Needham was born on December 13, 1940, and was a lifelong resident of the Old Trap and Shiloh communities. One of nine daughters born to the late Haywood and Pearl Briggs Wright, she, with her husband, were the owners and operators of Needham Adult Care Home, Inc.

   For many years Mrs. Needham had been a member of Old Trap United Methodist Church, the Elizabeth City Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star, the Ladies Red Hat Society, and the Lucky Lady Bugs Cancer Survivors Group.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, infant Shirley Wright, Melba Wright, Jesse Mae Riggs, Mary Nell Dean, Sara Lee Sawyer, and Linda Chappell; and by her son-in-law, Kenneth White.

   Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Rodney M. Needham; her daughter, Brenda Needham White; and her son, Steven M. Needham and wife, Nina, all of Shiloh. Also surviving are two sisters, Marveline Gregory of Chesapeake, VA and Hazel Gregory of Old Trap; five grandchildren, Kristopher White (Kristina), Sara White (Darion), Jessie Needham, Taylor Needham, and Ashley Needham; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas White, Emily White, Leigha White, and Arria Leonard.

   A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Mason. Friends may join the family at the residence.
