Trythenea Lane Baker

   Trythenea Pearl Lane Baker, 96, of Albemarle Village, Hertford, NC, and formerly of Tyner, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2018 in her home.

   Mrs. Baker was born in Chowan County on January 7, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Ervin Julian and Pearl Layden Lane.  A homemaker, she was dedicated to her family and provided for their needs as a loving wife, mother, and Mamaw, and had also served as a nurse's aide for 20 years.  She was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Locke Craig Baker; a sister, Madge Lane; and by four brothers, Creg, Forrest, Duwood, and Fentress Lane.

   Surviving are her four daughters, Sandra B. Myers and husband, Steve, of Cedarville, OH, Sherry B. Harrell and husband, Tommy, of Hertford, Marilyn B. Boyce and husband, Robert, of Suffolk, VA, and Lottie B. Willey and husband, Ralph, of Rocky Mount; a sister, Dotmegan Rogerson of Tyner; two sisters-in-law, Dawn Lane of Tyner and Thelma Lane of Toano, VA; eight grandchildren and their families, Lisa Myers; Michael Myers and wife, Angie, and their children, Chase, Carson, and Cade; Jason Harrell and wife, Tiffany, and their children, Sam, Abby, Hannah, and Matthew; Leah Robertson and husband, Dennis, and their children, Parker, Caroline, and Peyton; Jennifer Burnett and husband, Jim, and their children, Megan and Christian; Chad Boyce and wife, Theresa, and their daughter, Cara; Paul Willey and wife, Whitney, and their daughter, Reese; and Courtney Ottelin and husband, Brandon, and their son, Colton.

   Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Lane Family Cemetery, 277 Drinking Hole Road, Belvidere, and will be conducted by the Rev. Don English.  Friends may join the family Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and all other times at Sherry and Tommy's home, 279 North Bear Swamp Road, Hertford.

   The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to her loyal and devoted caregiver, Delphine, and also a special thanks to Jeanette, Essie, Clarissa, Mirandy, and all her nurses with Amedisys Hospice, for all the love and care provided them during their time of need.
