Madlean Stillman Noyes

   Madlean Stillman Noyes, 86, of 1690 Ocean Highway, Edenton, NC, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Edenton.

   Mrs. Noyes was born in Washington County on July 6, 1932, and was the daughter of the late James Ellsworth and Carrie Ann Oliver Stillman. A retired bookkeeper, she was a member of Scuppernong Church of Christ, but in recent years due to health and mobility, had attended Open Door Church closer to her home.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on March 10, 1992, by her husband, Lawrence Clyde “Larry” Noyes, Sr.; and on October 29, 2017, by her daughter, Fay Ann Reynolds.

   Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Schwartz and Evelyn Gray (Dannie), both of Edenton; a son, Lawrence C. Noyes, Jr. (Judy) of Bullock, VA; a brother, James Horace Stillman of Anniston, Alabama; eight grandchildren, Sharon Spruill (Robert), J. Eddie Schwartz, III (Amy), Carrie Schwartz, Dannie Gray, III (Deborah), Justin Gray, Travis Noyes, Kacie Noyes, and Charlie Reynolds; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Schuyler, Savannah and Madison Schwartz, and Elijah and RayLee Spruill; and a great-great-grandson, Kade Schuyler.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11th, at 11:00 a.m. in Scuppernong Church of Christ, and will be conducted by Pastor Robert B. Spruill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family in the church the hour prior to the service.
