Doris Mizelle Pierce

   Doris Faye Mizelle Pierce, 72, of 119 AJ Wilson Road, Ahoskie, NC, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018, in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

   Mrs. Pierce was born in Bertie County on September 23, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Kelly Lee and Ethel Marie Jones Mizelle. Retired from Teledyne Thermatics, she had worked at Hardee’s and at the Murfreesboro Trade Mart.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Lee Pierce; son-in-law, Gary Casper; sister, Elsie Pearson; and by her brother, Ernest Mizelle.

   Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Faye “Sissy” Boyette (Clayton) of Oak City, Linda Gray Casper of Rich Square, and Donna Marie Coggins of Chocowinity; a son, Tom Linwood Pierce (Teresa) of Ahoskie; seven grandchildren, Emily Pierce, David Pierce (Jill), Christopher Dixon, Clinton Vann, Kellie Vann, Ashley Hill (Blake), and Tommy Pierce; and six great-grandchildren.

   A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Sissy and Clayton’s home, 10844 NC 111 North, Hobgood, NC, and will be conducted by Pastor Ray Williamson.
