Nellie Sue Eure Yelton

   Nellie Sue Eure Yelton, 95, of 1413 Hwy 158 West, Roduco, NC, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 in her home.

   Mrs. Yelton was born in Gates County on February 19, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Tence and Sue Cullins Eure.  A homemaker, in earlier years she had been employed as a seamstress and later had also worked with Tar Heel Bar-B-Q.  Memberships enjoyed included both Eure Christian Church and the former Gatesville Chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Fred Yelton; a son, Luther Yelton; a son-in-law, Herbert Harrell; and by four brothers, Nathan, Clyde, Woodie, and Luther Eure.

   Surviving are her two daughters, Nell Harrell of Shelby, and Sylvia Mincher and husband, Lindsey, of Whaleyville, VA; a daughter-in-law, Jean Yelton of Roduco; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Eure Christian Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Wade Bennett.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may join the family in the church social hall immediately following the service on Monday, and all other times at the residence.
